Staten Island Camera Club - Serving the Staten Island community since 1954.
Welcome and thanks for visiting our site!

Camera clubs provide an excellent opportunity to improve our photographic skills and knowledge. They also provide a venue to challenge those skills, and a place to share what you have learned with other members who have a passion for photography.

Education, hands-on learning opportunities, competitions, as well as, new experiences, field trips and friendship among peers with similar interests and passions are just some of the benefits of being a member of a camera club.
Have you ever wished you could find a real person to talk to about photography or to get a review of your work to help you improve your technique?  If your answer is yes – a camera club is the perfect answer for you.

Why not join us for our next competition on May 16th in the Harbor Room located in Building "G" at Snug Harbor Cultural Center which can be accessed from the Black Door behind building "G" which is Halfway down Shinbone Alley.  The Harbor Room can be found down the first floor corridor and is the first door on your left opposite the elevator.

We not only hold competitions, but will also showcase positive photo  learning experiences through several Meet-Ups and workshops.  See our up coming events page for details.  Whether you to participate in our Image Critique Meet-up or our Photography Meet-Up  we promise to make the time spent a fruitful and engaging experience.

Membership matters. Whether you are a hobbyist or a professional photographer, joining a photography club is one of the best ways to improve your skills. The club can also be a good venue for who share the same as yours. You will not only new friendships, you’ll also have fun while learning new things about a craft that you love.
Aside from choosing the right Club, there are other essential elements that you have to consider before joining a camera club. In to get the most out of your membership, you should look for a club that offers the best for its members – whether it is in the field of learning or in terms of opportunities. Also, you should consider whether or not you’ll participate in club activities, outings and workshops. Being just a passive member robs everyone of the very experience of sharing all of your passion and zeal for the craft.

Common activities carried out by photography clubs include regular meetings, exhibits, guest speaker nights, workshops and seminars, competitions, club outings and field trips. There are also clubs that prefer to build inter-club associations in to a stronger photography community. Like ours, a majority (if not all) of clubs require a membership fee or an annual subscription, which will then serve as their main means of funding regular events (like meetings and workshops). For special events like exhibits and competitions, some clubs usually ask for help from sponsors.

Our 2019 Membership Drive is in full swing, contact us if you want to join our club:
